here's an abridged version which is an interview with the reporter, features a simple description of the products for those that don't want to read the 5 pg article
cbsnews.com

I find this discussion of the target breach fascinating on many levels:
- sounds like the US govt were the ones who alerted TGT to the breach about 2 weeks after it happened... how would THEY know? Is this a part of Snowden's gripe that the govt monitors everything? Good work on the part of the govt at any rate, at least they found something.
- No mention is made about false positives which are a huge problem in security. These interviews sound like the public is lead to believe that TGT received this one giant warning from the FEYE system that there was a breach when in fact, I'm sure TGT gets hundreds of these warnings periodically and many amount to nothing.
- I didn't realize FEYE was originally created by the CIA... I think Mandiant was. But FEYE had not bought Mandiant last year, and what they were describing as the core product ("sandboxing") is the FEYE product not Mandiant so I am confused there.
