That's way too complicated for me. I let Goodreads keep track of all of my books.

There's an app called Book Crawler that will capture all the data about a book using either the bar code or the book's cover using the device's camera. This includes book title, author, publisher, publication date, ISBN no., etc. I scanned in most of my library in about 2 hours.

With Goodreads, I can rate the book, and write a review if I want to - I usually only do that for my purposes so I remember what I either liked or didn't like about the author/book. Goodreads adds the date and other pertinent information.
