Agreed, but let's not forget that Bush cut taxes twice and engaged in a massive stimulus bill during the middle several crises: Internet Bubble bursting, 9/11, Afghanistan War, Iraq War, and 2008 Financial Meltdown.

His actions were those of someone who doesn't care about deficits, unlike Bush Sr. He increased taxes to pay for the Gulf War, even after he promised "read my lips, no new taxes". I know the GOP hated him for that, but he won my undying respect for that. I voted for Bush Sr. and he was a true American who did what he believed was right for the long term of this country. These politicians nowadays are only in it for the short run and it's killing this country's economy.

My bottom line is that we need to live within our means. Only the Libertarian Party believes that anymore. Used to be the GOP believed in that, but not any longer. BTW, you are right about Obama and the Dems since 2008. They have been spending like drunken sailors and printing the money to do it with. But did we really expect anything different from them? I know I didn't. We're in a big mess now. Maybe it's too late to change course.
