Religions comes from the mists of time. Every group of people, no matter how primitive, has a group religion. Some enlightened people come up with their own- which then get taken over by other groups, and then the innovative folks have to come up with a NEW new religion. Looking at the Christian Bible you might as well be talking about Odin in the old testament and Baldur in the new. Same old same old. Interesting, fun to read- but to believe in it? Well... I don't get that part.

And as for fun to read, I actually prefer the Norse myths. Hard to beat Ymir the great flood and a cow God. Want a flood? They've got that in the Norse myths. Want a magic tree? Yggdrasil is about as magic as they come. Want a serpent? Try the world serpent! If any of this sounds a bit familiar...

:-)

Myths- the more you read them, the more you realize there truly is nothing new under the sun.
