Social security is over 70 years old and all the kinks have yet to be worked out of it. The biggest kink is that no matter how many times it is repaired it is always predicted to eventually run out of funding. The only cure for it is to do what it was set up to do and keep the payment age to two years beyond the life expectancy of the payees the way FDR set it up.
