It is not ludicrous. This is a settlement. They are obliging to settle... If it were me, I'd fight it. But they know it would hurt shareholders and the stock in general, I'd imagine. What if your company decided you were paid too much two years ago, despite having gotten approval and the check in the mail...and took you to court. I understand people don't like to think of things from other peoples' perspective. But it would help with your anger and outrage to consider it...
