Yeah, you are right about valuation based on sum of parts. The issue is that the parts are trading at high valuations, so even discount to that is not very attractive. You might be better off going long LMCA and shorting the parts. However, with Malone's wheeling and dealing that's risky too. Disclosure: I have large position in LMCA.
