How does that make it "Republicans forcing us into this system" ? If I recall Democrats actually did force the system upon us.>>

We are the only western democracy in the world to not have universal health care. We dems were going to try and get something. Sure we forced it, but not what we wanted.

What did you want nothing? No affordable health care for people?

To bad we had to force it on the pubs!

After 08 we liberal dems thought we had enough political power to get a single payer system i.e. an expansion of medicare through the congress. But Obama would not fight for it.

And Obama did not have the votes for that in the senate or house and as mentioned didn't want to fight for it. He felt if he used a Republican plan they would vote for it and the dems would have to go along with it. It never occurred to him the pubs would vote against their own plan.

Obama took the single payer off the table on day one.

The liberals dems were so upset with Obama that he, Gibbs and Rahm told the liberals to quit whining and disenfranchised the kids who got him elected.

So the liberals and especially the millennials abandoned him and the party in 2010 and that is why the pubs gained so many seats.

It was because Obama abandoned the liberals and embraced the pubs the minute he was elected.
