Canadians love their health insurance (86%) and everyone is covered.
It isn't bad but is sort of a lowest common denominator thing. It helps to know your doctor on a personal basis and you can get a good level of treatment. Surgical intervention is certainly not equal across the country the best being in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Smaller centers have trouble attracting or keeping doctors and most of our doctors are immigrants from Pakistan, India and South Africa. Canadian trained doctors tend to go to the US or areas that pay better.

Diagnostic medicine in Canada is about on the same level as Cuba but when they know what to treat they are quite good at it.

Impossible in Canada to sue a doctor even for gross negligence.
