It is highly amusing that Putin demonstrates successful eavesdropping on actual evil-doers such as Victoria Nuland who might yet be as instrumental as April Glaspie in leading to carnage, and the Ukrainian brownshirts, while the NSA, CIA, FBI, Homeland Security and whatnot were unable to even intercept the Boston Bombers, despite being informed about them by Putin and co.
A caution to Putin. He should not take too seriously the comments by the Obama bosses that they are leaving it to the local yokels in the region, including Russia, to sort things out. That "green light" should be treated with caution. When Saddam took a similar green light from April Glaspie to mean it was a go to invade Kuwait, he then found himself with shock and awe and defeat by George Bush the elder. It looked very like a trap. George Bush the younger finished the job and killed Saddam [by proxy], using the handy excuse of non-existent WMDs as justification. But as Kerry, Obama and co hypocritically say, made up excuses for invasion are not good enough. But wait, Putin didn't make up excuses such as non-existent WMDs, he demonstrated actual good reason. And did it with very few fatalities and hardly a shot fired, with democratic process in Crimea and Russia.
If Putin was to take over Ukraine, it might just be that NATO and friends would decide it was a good excuse to do what they'd like to do which is more shock and awe and cash flow to the military industrial complex which is great at donating money to politicians.
