Gen. Alon is Right

Team Obama has systematically damaged ties with Israel, America’s most important ally in the Middle East. The ominous strategic repercussions of this practice have been greatly compounded by the declining U.S. power and prestige now evident in the Ukrainian crisis.

On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Alon undiplomatically pointed out these realities. He announced that, in the face of the Obama administration’s “demonstrating weakness,” the Jewish State is now on its own with respect to the Iranian nuclear threat.

An unnamed U.S. official furiously accused Gen. Alon of “undermining the relationship” between Israel and America. If Team Obama actually is committed to that relationship, it should urgently be working to rebuild it, instead of attacking a man who has courageously pointed out that the administration is doing just the opposite.
