Aldrin Commences Drill Program
Aldrin Resource Corp ("Aldrin") (TSX VENTURE:ALN)(FRANKFURT:OAA) is pleased to announce commencing drilling on its Triple M Property in northern Saskatchewan, adjacent to the high-grade uranium discovery at Patterson Lake made recently by Fission Uranium Corp. The drill program is planned for up to 4,000 m, and is testing coincident geological, structural, gravity, basement conductor, magnetic and radon anomalies. Aldrin began building our targets with a helicopter VTEM survey (magnetic and electromagnetic data) last summer, which yielded strong basement conductor anomalies precisely parallel to the high-grade mineralization at Patterson Lake discovered by Fission Uranium Corp. The VTEM conductors occur within low magnetic susceptibility rocks, consistent with the fine grained metasediments that host uranium in the Athabasca Basin.
Aldrin followed up by testing the VTEM conductors with a surface radon survey, which returned high value anomalies over the conductors. Aldrin then followed up with a surface gravity survey which identified strong gravity lows closely associated with the radon anomalies and again located over the basement conductors.
Most recently, Aldrin completed infill gravity lines bringing the line spacing down from 200 m to only 50 m. This closer spacing has yielded increased detail in locating the strongest gravity anomalies, allowing the final refinement in collar locations.
Harrison Cookenboo, Ph.D., P. Geo and Aldrin's Vice President of Exploration and Development remarked "We have built very strong drill targets, and now we are ready to test them. I am impressed with how well our geophysical anomalies line up with our prioritized geological trends. They are precisely parallel to Fission's spectacular high-grade uranium discovery on their adjacent Patterson Lake property. I believe Aldrin's first uranium drill campaign has a strong opportunity for discovery."
