Some viruses contain only RNA and they're all parasitic on DNA based living organisms.

Those are very interesting. The virus injects it's RNA sequence into the cytoplasm which produces a copy of the virus. The cell's DNA is not involved. As far as the virus is concerned, DNA is just an avenue to have another cell which contains the environment for it's RNA.
