TP hasn't posted here in years...

It is just coincidence. About 5 years ago I moved from Texas to California and worked for smaller companies. I was very busy. The work was all in the Personal Computer and Server environment which was unfortunately a dying industry. I went back to larger companies with chip manufacturers and finally IBM, but they all were shrinking. I was laid-off. The job interviews were all in the cloud with .net and stuff I didn't find interesting. I don't think they found me interesting either.

Fortunately I learned a thing or two reading Silicon Investor and my investment portfolio was healthy. Back in Austin I bought real estate using my years of living here to pick up some gems with beautiful downtown views but run down prices. I reallocated my portfolio to emphasize dividend paying companies.

So now there is a lull in things I have to do and I rekindled by interest in evolution. I read stock tips here, but I'm a fairly inactive investor now so my only posts have been here, toward my hobby. Can't say how long I stay, it all depends on how interesting it is and how much time my "retirement" requires.

You can attribute my presence to John Boehner since had he not ended extended unemployment I might still be making half hearted interviews at mobil phone companies.
