(For those of you who want serious discussion, skip the next couple of paragraphs:)

<obegone.....i never heard that much bunk in a post before<gggg>
cpq blows the roof off this qtr and 1q too.
cpq does on 3% of their biz in japan...
europe will make that up 3 times.>

steve - I know I'm not the first to be skewered by your attempts at wit (yes, I did notice your <gggg>!) but your trying to trivialize any slightly negative points people bring up on the thread only hurts your own standing.

I, like several others who have posted to the thread with an occasional negative fact or opinion, am not bearish on CPQ. Quite the opposite, I think CPQ's position is great and getting better and I'm long on the stock. That doesn't mean that I discount any position, idea, or fact that is presented just because I didn't post it.

Even with the <gggg> aside, I took your post to be an attack on my credibility and would appreciate it if you dropped the attempts to stifle discussion on the thread.

Here are some serious questions I have:

1. Do YOU expect CPQ to continue to grow its earnings at a 30% annual rate for the next five years?

2. Why do YOU think CPQ has tanked in the last month?

3. How long do YOU think CPQ can maintain or grow its margins in the face of the price declines in both components and the computers themselves?

4. How much ($ or %) cost savings do you see from CPQ's proposed shift to only 500 authorized dealers from currently over 2000?

5. How fast (%) is European sales accelerating? Asian sales decelerating?

6. What are the barriers CPQ faces in the China market and what are they doing to overcome them?

7. What are the three biggest stategic threats CPQ faces and what are they doing to address them?

8. What are the three major strengths of CPQ and how is the company preserving/maintaining them?

9. What are CPQ's biggest weaknesses as a company and what are they doing about them?

OB - NOT SO GONE
