jeff - >>but what about the market?<<

Do you ever play Blackjack?
Have you ever tried to count cards?
The market is just like a casino, and it is legal to count cards.
You can prove to yourself mathmatically (for Blackjack) that if you play be the rules, and count the cards well, you will stack the odds in your favor. You can't tell which card is coming next, but you vary the size of your bets to be greater when the odds are leaning in your favor, you will win over the long haul.

Trouble is, when I go to Vegas, I can't pay attention to those cards. There are bells going off over next to the slots. There is the emotional excitement of money changing hands. There are cute waitressess in skimpy outfits. There are free drinks.

And the cards just keep coming so fast. It's easy to slip, and one slip can cost you a LOT!

So, count the cards. Study the financial releases. Read a few books. Listen to the analysts (contrarian perhaps). But also remember that there are other people sitting at the table, and they are also counting the cards. Pay attention to what they do.

I hope this was vague enough to be totally useless, mammal.
