What makes you think biotech companies use evolutionary theory?

I know many people who work for biotech or in the medical field. They all use evolutionary theory as the basis of their world view. Actually, I'm kind of an anomaly in my family. I'm the only only one of my sibilings, or cousins who had a career in digital technology (although all of them have had to learn computers in the last couple of decades). Most of them are doctors, research biologists, or school teachers. It's sort of a family tradition now.
