3/28/14 Contest update Biotechs had a lousy week and Contest portfolios did not escape the drubbing. Was it, as @RNAiAnalyst tweeted, temporary “GILD by association” or something more chronic? Time will tell. Despite the week’s flogging, the Contest median still closed Friday up a respectable 20.21% YTD (vs. up 31.63% YTD a week ago). Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Biotech Index finished the week up a mere 1.13% YTD (vs. up 8.76% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was now down -.50% YTD (vs. up 2.40% YTD a week ago). JB118's portfolio, up 63.21% YTD, reclaimed first place, while GUERL’s portfolio, up 61.57% YTD, held second place. Hit hard by TKMR’s plunge, GENE’s portfolio, up 59.41% YTD, dropped to third place. At Friday's close, 6 Contest portfolios had fallen to the red but an impressive 40 of the 46 were beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. Portfolio adjustments: none (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies! Peace & good health, Bulba
