With all due respect, this is how every religion & belief in the supernatural always gets started from the beginning of time, bar none. Shear desperation for cures from everpresent disease with the witch-doctor/magician/holyman, prophets to bring rain (or stop the rains) and the divine "warrior/hero/king/messiah" sent by God to protect the tribe/nation from its everpresent enemies.
