For instance .... A jury is free to ignore the facts, of a case, which (for all intents and purposes) was won in the courtroom ...... and come up with a verdict .... based on "yet to be determined" factors.

And a Federal Judge, is free to evaluate (and act upon) that verdict , without fear of losing his job.
