I agree. The Pubs can at least claim they tried twice with what they viewed as Centrist candidates only to see them lose both times. The Pub primaries start off as a freak show, but did end up with fairly central choices. IMHO, they then both went and did the same stupid thing: Picked one of the freaks for a running mate.

If it had been McCain & Romney the 1'st time, we would likely be looking at VP Romney cranking up for 2016. I wonder if the Pubs will figure this out for 2016.
