Availability of VocalTec's Telephony Gateway

1997--The CTI Authority,
a leading distributor of Internet Telephony
and Computer Telephony solutions and
components, announces immediate availability
of VocalTec's latest release of the Telephony
Gateway.
The Telephony Gateway acts as a bridge
between the public telephone network and the
Internet so individuals or organizations can
use the Internet to carry their phone traffic
at significantly reduced rates. With the
release of Version 3.1 VocalTec has addressed
many of the issues which have hampered the
growth of IP telephony.
Version 3.1 incorporates major enhancements
in the compression and packetization of the
audio stream which yields excellent voice
quality and minimizes end to end delay in
real-time, full-duplex conversations.
Enhanced echo canceling algorithms and
adjustable volume control also serve to
enhance overall voice quality.

This release of the Telephony Gateway also
supports Surf&Call(TM), a web plug-in
developed by VocalTec that enables visitors to
a web site to quickly connect with a sales or
support agent from their multimedia PC. With
Surf&Call online consumers no longer have to
terminate their Internet session to make a
phone call to the company that is hosting the
site.
Accounting and Billing Software
The CTI Authority is also an authorized
distributor for MIND C.T.I., the developer of
iPhonEX, a call accounting package designed to
tightly couple with Telephony Gateway 3.1.
With iPhonEX Gateway owners can easily
allocate costs across departments, create
billing statements for subscribers to their
Gateway services, or provide debit card
services. iPhonEX is also available for
immediate shipment.
