components, announces immediate availability of VocalTec's latest release of the Telephony
Gateway. The Telephony Gateway acts as a bridge
between the public telephone network and the
Internet so individuals or organizations can
use the Internet to carry their phone traffic
at significantly reduced rates. With the
release of Version 3.1 VocalTec has addressed
many of the issues which have hampered the growth of IP telephony. Version 3.1 incorporates major enhancements in the compression and packetization of the
audio stream which yields excellent voice quality and minimizes end to end delay in
real-time, full-duplex conversations. Enhanced echo canceling algorithms and
