>> What you don't get is that government is a manifestation of democracy i.e. our collective decisions.

You are naive. Do you think the ACA is a "manifestation of democracy" or has anything to do with our "collective decisions"? Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama made that decision. Against the will of the people as is now so evidently on display, where only 1/3 of the Senators who voted for it will still be in office after this election.

Where our constitution was violated in the creation of the law, and the law itself so bad the president cannot enforce it for fear of political devastation. The result is some 30 provisions have been "waived" illegally. Democracy, indeed.

>> And why make it illegal to get the same drugs from Canada if a person can get them cheaper there.. Big pharma wanted that provision so they could charge everyone more. That is where paid lobbyists come in handy.

The Democrats could have easily dealt with this issue as part of ACA but they (all Democrats) chose not to. Personally, I don't care about reimportation, but the reality is that Americans have to foot the bill if they want to be the world's innovators. And if we don't do it, the rest of the world cannot be counted on, because so many governments are price controlling the drugs they buy. So, it really comes down to whether you want to have access to new life-saving drugs or not. If you do, it is on us to pay the lion's share.

>> A corporation is a "sociopathic" artificial business that does not have a right to set prices unless society gives it that right.

Prices are generally set by markets. Drug prices are convoluted as a result of many nation's price controls, but they are still set in the US by markets.

If you knew anything at all about economics you would realize that no business (corporation or otherwise) is allowed by a free market to raise prices. Markets will seek alternatives. It is primarily when government fucks with markets that you get these convolutions -- and health care is a big one. Kill Medicare/Medicaid and you won't have them.
