One learns many lessons of mutual cooperation & coordination of behaviors when humans first start sailing ships or taking on huge planned building projects such as pyramids. The addition of new information to the human sphere in both these exercises was tremendous for obvious reasons. One also thinks of that early contact with other peoples, new materials & cultural exchange from the early Phoenician traders (and Egyptians) transporting & bringing in new goods from afar....and ideas.

Ah, but mythical Moses was so moral he didn't need the sailing arts at his command to cross the Red Sea, just waved his hand, poof, along came the Intelligent Designer parting the seas for him!

( Needless to say, with this kind of power the Hebrews had no need of mastery of the sailing arts till much later & remained landlocked/camel dependent!)
