Just for fun.... This source says that the 1982 - 1987 bull market lasted 1274 trading days. "The 1,274th trading day of the 1982 bull market was Aug. 25, 1987, which turned out to be a notable top, Paulsen says." marketsblog.usatoday.com We are as of Tuesday at 1276 trading days. 8/12/82 SPX 102.42 to 8/25/87 SPX 336.77 was a 328.8 percentage gain. This same percentage gain from SPX 676.53 on 3/9/2009 would put us at SPX 2225.
