FWIW, one-month GOFO rates dropped sharply to zero (actually, tiny
1-Mo backwardation) in
the last 2 days, the gold market is again very close to
backwardation. A big rally in gold that breaks the carry
trade cartel should be accompanied by strong backwardation,
IMHO, but we shall see. Gofo indicator says gold price should
move higher in the short term.
