Wow. But perhaps you should get a 100 Base T NIC to connect to the modem? - same ballpark price. What UART do you have in your PC? 16750 may be needed instead of 16550. Sector, You are getting too techie foor me<G> I use Macintosh computers on the entire network with 10base T built in. You have a point about going to a 100 Base T but the real world service through the net and servers out there keep real throughput lower. I doubt 100 Base T would help since the bottleneck is the backbone of the net. What is UART? Glenn
