Half of all old people in the US rely on social security alone. When it was enacted it pulled millions of people out of abject poverty, expecially old people and especially old women. What would you have done just let the old people suffer a miserable death? People like you are so callous it is hard to bear. ssa.gov And I have a tone of old friends who do not have to live the rest of their life as cripples because medicare and medicade gives them hip and knee replacements.
