There are fundamental differences -- SS & Medicare were designed to make idiots think they had actually PAID for the benefits they're receiving. They are not, which is the reason these programs are tens of trillions of dollars in debt.

But the point is taken: Once you start borrowing money from future generations and giving it to old people, the old people will raise hell if you try to take it away. Yes, that's a fact.

It doesn't make it right.
