I said they were words to the effect of because I haven't seen that interview on the Internet anywhere. It was a TV show that I have not found on the Internet ('though I have tried).

It isn't even important. Just forget I said it. Now argue with this. If Buffett does NOT believe government is a poor allocator of resources, why not just leave his fortune to the government? Couldn't the government spend it more wisely than some private foundation? Certainly, the government NEEDS the money.

And when you get down to it, Gates is running around trying to convince all wealthy people their money is better off in the hands of his foundation than in the hands of government. After all, anyone so inclined can simply leave his entire estate to the government. Why not?

So, right -- I can't find the video. But his actions say precisely the same thing that HE said in the video: Government is not going to use the money as wisely as the Gates Foundation. So, he's making his choice.

Argue with THAT.
