It's a mixture of retirees and those that gave up looking and probably a lot of both. People are retiring earlier and earlier without enough money to actually get them through retirement. Obama says that's great because now they can do whatever they want. In actuality, they can't afford to do anything and have to live with their children or stay home and watch TV all day.
