Haim, Crimea was and is part of Russia, as voted by the local yokels and by the Russian parliament. It's not even a close call. <What I tried to prove was that once one country illegally snatches a part of another country by illegal means or military force, today, it opens a can of worms, better said snakes.>

"Illegal" in international relations is a meaningless word. The legitimacy of UN decisions is questionable at best. Crimea being part of Russia makes far more democratic and logical sense than does the "legality" of the UN.

Neither did Russia "snatch" Crimea. The rejoining with Russia seems to have been done quite properly and reasonably.

Comparisons with Germany annexing Poland, Austria etc are absurd. Austria did not vote 90% to join Adolf's Germany, neither did Poland.

Victoria Nuland should be prosecuted by the UN for interference in foreign countries [if you want to moan about foreigners illegally interfering in other countries which have nothing to do with them]. "I was just following orders" was not an accepted defence in the Nuremberg trials so perhaps should not be accepted in her instance.
