They had the authority, but if it turns out the hospital can't get reimbursed for it then they may also have accountability for it.
That's pathetic.......I've told you, if the doc thought the patient required admittance to save his life, the decision was a no brainer for people with a brain.....and Medicare makes it clear that they are not going to nitpick over decisions like that.....

When my mom died I could not get the ER physician to admit her. It happened during an ice storm when there was no place in town with heat except the hospital and the ER doc refused to admit her because "she's dying and we can't help her."
Did she need ER care or just heat...... Did you have heat????

The ER doc didn't want to take responsibility for admitting a patient who couldn't be helped.
WTF do they do in Arkansas for people they believe are dying? Put them out in the parking lot? Your mother was slipping in and out of consciousness and they wouldn't do anything for her???? That is fucking unbelievable....
