Yes, But:

"he who lives by the spread, dies by the spread"

when short rates spike and turns a winner into a loser. Their long end is fixed and short end is going to bite them hard in the not too distant future. Like the dopey federal government and Fed, they believe they will always have a positive spread, an assumption no sane business person makes.
