Do you know what I believe? I believe that God created a fantastic multiverse, which is governed by scientific laws and constants. I think he knew when he created it that it would evolve to a state where beings like us would evolve. I believe we are not the only sentient beings in the multiverse. I also believe that the purpose of the multiverse is to create beings like us who are self-aware and can continue to evolve in spirit to be more like Him. I also believe that hell is the absence of God. I also believe that science is an incredible tool that we created to understand the multiverse and God better. Remember our search for the God Particle recently? Scientists often seek God too.

Science explains so much, but leaves us with more questions than answers. I believe the purpose of life is to be curious, seek answers, perfect our soul as much as we can in this life, help others in that journey, and hopefully reach God in the next. He gave us a roadmap, but we have an infuriating way of corrupting the messages He gives us. The Catholic Inquisition comes to mind along with Bible literalism, as things that aren't very helpful in perfecting our soul or being open to the full experience God intended for us. Whatever we think we know is probably only a mote of dust in comparison to the full scope of what He created.

I find no conflict in science and religion. Rather, I think the beauty that He created is simply far beyond what any of us are capable of imagining, much less millennia old Jewish folks in the Middle East. ;)
