Look again at your chart. The current "recession" doesn't look at all like any of the others. What it does look like is the Great Depression. And this is what you expect. Both the 2007 and the Great Depression were financial disasters of the highest magnitude involving major bank insolvency. The other stuff is just the usual mild recession caused by excess inventories or problems in some part of the economy.

And there's a reason they didn't include the Great Depression. It would dwarf everything else. It started in 1929 or 1930 and unemployment didn't get back to the previous number until 1942. That's 12 years or 144 months. Your chart only shows 75 months of data.

Of course the present "recession" looks different. It's a depression, a world-wide depression.

What I can't figure out is how you can call your post "proof".
