I never ever want the task of integration and migration of a bug ridden just released. I debated even using 13,10 over 12.04. When you use a different window manager than the default you never know what is screwed up.

In 13.10 if I try to start some gnome apps that worked OK in fvwm on 12.04 on my laptop, they now start full gnome manager and break fvwm manager mouse links to menu operations. You have to kill X, you cannot restart fvwm.

now all gnome apps do this. gnome-system-monitor works ok.

not the case in 12.04

so I cannot use gnome software-center to install packages.

so I manually installed a command line package dpaki to install deb files. google-chrome is in the form of a deb package.

I got chrome as the current latest and greatest firefox freezes on some web pages. go back and get an earlier version firefox. that is a magical mystery tour.

Remember current software is created by geniuses who know all and create perfectly working latest and greatest and why would they think about going back to a defective previous version. Creating bugs must make them feel important.

chrome did not freeze on the pages of interest. specint2006 all results. 20 meg. I even tried downloading the page and loading it locally. firefox 28.0 still freezes.

So I set up chrome with multible personalities. fall back if in some firefox work area personality I am freezing it.

just edit in to my .fvwm2rc file.
