Nothing could be further from the truth. Civilization was born out of transferring knowledge from pne person to another. We learn by learning, not by deducing.
Maybe basic skills or some mechanical endeavour.

Bach, Beethoven and da Vinci had many protégés. Why is it that none achieved their greatness? What sparked them to achieve more, do more?

The greatest of them all the Greeks failed in transmitting their knowledge and were over-powered by savage cultures.

For instance and this is not the best example but it works. This particular horse trainer has hundreds of students and followers and assistants. Not one has surpassed him... why?
