Nothing could be further from the truth. Civilization was born out of transferring knowledge from pne person to another. We learn by learning, not by deducing.
<<Maybe basic skills or some mechanical endeavour.>>

That is not what I am talking about. I am talking about how we left the nomadic life 10,000 years ago, settled down invented written language and started our progression toward civilization.

And look how much smarter the world is today than 200 years ago. That was all EDUCATIN! Today no one has open slavery and most first world countries are democracies.

<<Bach, Beethoven and da Vinci had many protégés. Why is it that none achieved their greatness? What sparked them to achieve more, do more? >>

I am not talking about geniuses, I am talking about the average person. One educated and one not educated.

There is a concept call the "expert mind" research has shown it takes 10 years to develop an expert mind. They used chess players for their research.

There is also the concept of knowledge directed perception. The more you know the more you can see; and that study of rich and poor kids was done at Stanford and Colombia and confirmed with brain scans. It was a real study.

When rich kids are 2 poor kids are only operating intellectually at 18 months because of lack of sophisticated language in the house. At 5 the poor kids are only operating at 3.

Margaret Mead said the reason she did so well, was that every night at the dinner table they had a substantive discussion.

Think about your friends. How many do you know that have constant substantive conversations with their kids like at dinner every night.

<<The greatest of them all the Greeks failed in transmitting their knowledge and were over-powered by savage cultures.>>

Yes, and had they survived we would be at least 1,500 years more advanced than we are today.

<<For instance and this is not the best example but it works. This particular horse trainer has hundreds of students and followers and assistants. Not one has surpassed him... why?>>

Because he has done it longer?
