| I'd like to see Apple embrace competition instead, keeping users happy by giving them as many choices as possible, and keeping the ad revenue. If Apple saw competition as a good thing because it makes everyone strive to improve, they could ensure that iTunes is the best service and not worry about competitors. This is how Google has approached things and it has worked well for them. Yahoo, Microsoft, and other direct competitors are allowed to not only advertise, but have search, email, media, and other apps in the Play Store with no worries. Maybe Apple is worried about the competition outdoing them, costing more user revenue than the money their ads bring in? |
