The same is true in the opposite direction. I really don't care who is influential in the evil democrat party. There are many on the right who think they know. Some are probably correct while many are wrong.

When a party is up they tend to coalesce behind those who occupy leadership positions in their party. Witness those who still obsess over Reagan democrats and Reagan conservatives.

Even though Barrack Hussein Obama is no leader, he has a leadership position and those who covet power on the left must do his bidding. It has been said that Harry Reid despises Obama, yet he does his bidding.

When a party is down the fractures between its different constituencies tend to become more evident. This is certainly true of the Republican party today. We can hope that the liberals who control the national party are sidelined out and a more pragmatic libertarian group gets some power.
