Correlation does not imply causation

Seems like I post this weekly at my health thread. But we have a major social problem that I think rises from that fallacy. It has to do with the fact that children from single family homes have more problems than ones that don't. We conclude that the problem is the single parent home. But what if it is one of the symptoms?

What other correlation can we get about this problem.? How about the fact that about 83% of black families are single parent? Is this caused by nature or nurture? And if nurture, whose structure, African or Euro?

Our Left wants to blame all problems on nurture. God forbid anything is genetic. Our Sociology Dept's will not study this on a racial basis. Not at least one that they will release showing it that way. Could cause an uproar if they investigated it that way. Even a tenured Sociologist would be ostracized.

I can't pull up stories about it at the drop of my hat, but I have read, over the years, that African Blacks do not have a Caucasian marriage structure. Only when forced on them by the Euro structure running their colony or as slaves in a Euro state. I recall that women would prove their fertility by having babies, THEN hook up with a man. Also, the normal African pattern was for the women to do the work while the men engaged in either war or laying about.

Any comments?
