JDN,

I agree completely. I sat down yesterday after i got home
and took another look, not at the 'markets' or 'asia' or
any of that other crap but at the companies I own and why
i bought them. Basically i come to the conclusion that
Coherent is still the same company I bought, has the same
long term prospects for innovation, growth, and excellence
that characterized it when I bought it. The announcments
reinforce that. I almost like the fact that the R&D is
'hurting' earnings. That, in my view, should hurt earnings.
I want to own companies so eager to develop AND market
new products that they ignore next quarter in favor of
two years from now. The lithography is positive and the
partnerships are positive. I got up and went to my wife
(who is completely uninterested in my investments) and
said, 'you know, sometimes millions of investors CAN be
wrong' (referring to the 'market).

On this one, I am right and I have the patience to prove
it.
