My annual Amazon purchases are down by about 80%. For many years, Amazon had the lowest prices for the things I was buying, often by a significant amount. That's no longer true. Amazon has been slowly and steadily raising their prices. For the goods you buy, perhaps they have. How much have they risen compared to other retailers? I'm pretty knowledgeable in this area... if you give me a couple links to products you buy (or bought) regularly, I might be able to help.
I am frequently finding goods of all kinds at or near the same price locally as Amazon's best price. This could be for your set of items, but overall, Amazon's margins remain razor thin and their price competitiveness as strong as ever (much stronger than several years ago).
For online purchases of things I can't find locally, eBay vendors often beat Amazon's prices and ship for less. Again, for your items, perhaps, but this is not universally true. Do you utilize Amazon Prime, Subscribe & Save, price research tools, or other means of discounting? |
