CBO lowers cost estimates on Obamacare in report

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- The Congressional Budget Office said Monday it now expects subsidies and Medicaid expansion from the Affordable Care Act to cost less than previously expected. The CBO reduced its estimates to $36 billion from $41 billion for fiscal 2014, and to $1.383 trillion from $1.487 trillion for the fiscal years 2015 to 2024. CBO officials noted there are a number of revenue-producing aspects of Obamacare that will help offset these expenses, and ultimately reduce federal deficits overall
