My experience in Taiwan and Hong Kong is that the general public in Taiwan , and Hong Kong are richer than those in US. This is a very strange phenomina, because from statistics,
and newspapers in US, we were told that the average income of US is higher than Taiwan and
Hong Kong.
I also heard that with a market of 1.4 billion population , China is going to set up its own specs for some electronic products, such as CVD, telecommunication. So in the future if you want to export to China, you have to meet China's specs.
As to investment, Taiwan is still investing , TSMC and UMC together are going to invest another 30 billion USD in new fabs next 5 years. |
