Haim I hate to break your bubble again this people are Hutsuls en.wikipedia.org As you can read Hutsuls ( Ukrainian: ??????, hutsuly; Polish: Hucul, plural Huculi, Huculowie; Romanian: hu?ul, plural hu?uli) are an ethno-cultural group who for centuries have inhabited the Carpathian mountains, mainly in Ukraine and in the northern extremity of Romania (in the areas of Bukovina and Maramures). Hutsuls regard themselves as being part of the broader Rusyn ethnic minority and/or as Ukrainian highlanders. That is silimilarity in dress with Romanian Hutsuls. In FT there was article about Rusyn Republic in the Yzgorod. Putin has nothing to do with them and they are not particularly found of Kiev either. You can do more searches on Rusyns. They speak their own dialect and it is quite different from Ukrainian
