Thanks for setting this up J.F.

You're quite welcome Wolfpack3, thanks for joining us!

I have a couple of questions about your setup...

Is it the jailbroken Apple TV 2 that allows for playback of any movie format you have? Would that include full rips of DVDs you own in .iso or .dvdmedia format, or do you convert them to .mp4 or some other format first?

Reason I ask is that I've had trouble trying to play full rips through Plex before, the video would stutter slightly and make it unwatchable. Movies converted to .mp4 were no problem and played just fine.

I'm unfamiliar with XBMC, but I know it and Plex are two of the big names in software for media centers. XBMC looks very promising for the setup I'd like to have, I love the ability to skin the interface and the way it will pull down (scrape) metadata from the Internet for your files.

How do you like your Onkyo receiver? Would you buy it again? My friend had one go out on him, not sure what the problem was, but it was a few years old and well out of warranty. Personally, I've also had a Denon receiver get a nasty speaker static sound issue, and no amount of troubleshooting or resetting would fix it and it had to be recycled.

Thanks for your time. :-)
