Perhaps; if I were committed to life as a pot smoker, I would definitely go live in CO or at least CA, where it is legal or almost legal, and not in New Orleans where a potsmoker can get prison time. That would totally make sense.

As am I, and I don't argue that it isn't the state's prerogative. Only that it backward and ignorant, just as taking away other freedoms is. It is no different than taking away a person's freedom to choose not to buy health insurance, their freedom to spend their own money as they see fit, the freedom ride a motorcycle without a helmet, to smoke cigarettes, or order a 44oz drink at McDs.

Bottom line is any conservative who supports these drug laws is a hypocrite of the highest order. You cannot have your cake and eat it, too, which is what conservatives supporting drug prohibition want.
