No, I don't think so. There are now, and there have been forever, laws that were just wrong because the people who made them are ignorant (Obamacare comes to mind).

I believe I agreed with you that the guy who got busted three times was stupid. But the law is stupid, too. Hell, just the idea that LA voters are going to have pay for the guy to sit in prison for 13 years is stupid. And when he comes out, he'll be right back to drugs because he will have spent 13 years in a Louisiana prison doing nothing of value.

The problem here is that there is no case to be made for nonviolent drug possession as a felony UNLESS you can also say that you believe we should bring back Prohibition. And I don't know too many people, here or in Louisiana, who would support THAT.
